Walid Karam, Ma3bar Coordinator

Walid has been teaching computer science and computer engineering courses at the University of Balamand since 1993. His academic experience includes software development, Java technologies, operating systems, and various senior topics in computing. In addition, he has been coordinating all senior graduation projects in the department of computer science. Other experiences include network management and e-learning initiatives.
Walid holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, GA), a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from South Dakota State University (Brookings, SD), and a PhD in Telecommunications from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (Paris, France). He is a member of IEEE and the Lebanese Syndicate of Engineers, Lebanon.

Michel Chammas, Project Assistant

Michel graduated from the University of Balamand with a Master degree in Networking & Communication in 2009. During his academic career, he worked as an assistant in the Unix Lab. He was responsible for software and hardware support and assistant for the OS courses. In 2007, Michel Worked as an assistant of several courses in the Department of Computer Science. In December 2009, he joined ma3bar and he's currently working in research and development of training material and maintaining the portal.

Michel holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from University of Balamand, a Master of Science in Networking & Communication from the University of Balamand and a CCNA certificate from Cisco Academy. Michel is the President of the Computer Science Club ­ UOB since 2005 and the Coordinator of the Balamand OSUM group since 2008.

Joanne Harb, Undergraduate Assistant

Joanne is an undergraduate Information Systems student at the University of Balamand. She currently holds a minor in Business Administration and is expected to attain her BS degree in 2011. She is a Cum Laude graduate from Klein Collins High School: Spring, Texas. She was enrolled at the University of Balamand in 2007 as a freshman student and has been on the Dean’s Honor List since. Due to her excellent academic standing, she was appointed by Dean Jihad Attieh as a member of the Library & Information Technology Committee of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Balamand during the fall of 2009. Adding on, she was elected Vice President of the Computer Science club during the Spring of 2010. Joanne joined Ma3bar in the summer of 2010 and is currently in charge of the portal maintenance and deals with a variety of day to day tasks related to Ma3bar.

Edgard Chammas, Graduate Assistant

Edgard is a computer security researcher who works as a free lancer in web development and security auditing. He holds a  BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Balamand. He founded the first Lebanese community to deal with hacking and computer security.

Georges Malek, Undergraduate Assistant

Georges is an undergraduate Software Engineering student at the University of Balamand. He is expected to attain his BS degree in 2011. He has worked as the Computer Science's secretary assistant for 3 years. He joined Ma3bar during the summer of 2010 and is currently in charge of dealing with daily tasks.

Nicolas Farah, Undergraduate Assistant

Nicolas is an undergraduate Information Systems student at the University of Balamand. He is expected to attain his BS degree in 2012. He has worked as an assistant in the IT department, Network Unit for 1 year. He is the current President of the Computer Science Club. He joined Ma3bar during the summer of 2010 and is currently in charge of dealing with daily tasks.
