May 28 201 The faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (E&IT) has conducted a second workshop as part of its strategy to disseminate the culture of open source software
The workshop was organized with cooperation of newly established Palestinian Open Source Initiative (POSI), Palestinian Linux users group (PLUG) and "2iltd" company, Middle East. The aim is to put joint efforts to promote the concept of open source software in the Palestinian Authority.

Audience
Staff members of Al-Najah National University along with around 120 AAUJ students and staff. The majority of the students are from the E&IT faculty. Also representatives of local companies from Jenin Area participated in the workshop.

This workshop was self funded by partners of the workshop.
Results
Active discussion about the open source software occurred at the workshop. The partners decided to put joint efforts to conduct training sessions for the students on Linux and other open source products in the near future. Prizes were awarded to some attendees from the center of technological creativity-Jenin.
